Strawberry Stomach-Saver Smoothie

When dealing with a chronic illness, some days it seems impossible to even make a meal as simple as scrambled eggs. On the other hand, it's impossible to keep up your strength if you're allowing yourself to starve. There are also many medications that can't be taken on an empty stomach.

I like to keep some of my Stomach-Saver pre-made in the fridge for those days when I simply don't have the energy to cook. I also deal with TMJ issues, so some days it's excruciatingly painful to chew. The Stomach-Saver is great for those days because it's liquid enough that you can drink it through a straw, but it's still thick enough to coat the stomach (about the texture of a high-quality milkshake).

Do keep in mind that even though they won't cause inflammation like many processed sugars, fruits still have a very high sugar content. No matter what type of sugar you consume, it will feet the borrelia bacteria. Therefore, the Strawberry Stomach-Saver should be consumed sparingly, reserved for the very worst days. It also makes a wonderfully delicious pick-me-up treat!
